How to Install Winfit on Customer's Computer

Step-by-Step Installation Instructions

  1. Ensure Windows is Up to Date

    • Confirm that the client’s computer has the latest updates installed. This will prevent compatibility issues during installation.

  2. Verify Windows Settings

    • Open Settings on the client’s computer and ensure the following configurations:

      • Windows Language: Set to English (United States)

      • Country or Region: Set to United States

      • Regional Format: Set to English (United States)

  3. Download the Winfit Installer

  4. Run the Installer

    • Locate the downloaded file, Winfit.exe, and run it as an Administrator.

      • Note: Some client computers may require IT assistance to enter the administrator password.


  1. Installation Process

    • During the installation process, when prompted, select Single Workstation in the second window.

  2. .NET Framework Installation

    • If prompted to install the .NET Framework, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.

      • Restart the computer if required.

    • After restarting, run Winfit Reference.exe from the desktop to continue the installation.

    • Important:

      • For older versions of Windows 10 or Windows 7, you may need to manually install .NET Framework 4.8 as the new Winfit software does not support Windows 7 Service Pack 1.

  3. Update Winfit

    • After the initial installation, Winfit may prompt for an update.

    • Complete the update process and allow the software to restart.


  4. Configure Winfit Settings

    • Once Winfit is installed, open the software and navigate to:

      • Options > Settings > Personal Data


    • Enter the password: winfit (all lowercase).

    • Input the customer’s number and password.



  • Once you enter customer number and password, if all the settings are correct including regional settings then you will have this prompt


Pre-Installation Checklist

  • Customer Credentials:

    • Request the customer’s password, Shape Management information, and other requirements at least 1 hour before visiting the client.

  • System Requirements:

    • RAM Considerations:

      • Customers with 4GB RAM will have access to limited shapes.

      • Full shape functionality is available only for systems with 8GB RAM or more.

Additional Notes

  • Support Limitations:

    • We do not provide technical support for fixing customer’s computer hardware issues, including keyboards, mice, or other Windows-related problems.

  • Informing Customers:

    • Inform customers with 4GB RAM about the shape limitations to avoid misunderstandings if they contact another branch for additional shapes.

Post-Installation Steps

  1. Ensure Winfit is functioning properly.

  2. Provide the customer with a brief walkthrough of the software’s basic functionality.

  3. Confirm that the customer can log in with their credentials.
